The weather in Murcia has the characteristics of a subtropical semiarid Mediterranean climate. These climatic conditions result in an average annual temperature of 18 º C, with hot summers (registering absolute maximum of 40 º C) and mild winters (11 º C of average temperature in January and December).
The number of completely cleared days is around 120 and 150 annual hours of sunshine a year are about 2,800. In general, rainfall is low (about 300-350 mm / year) throughout the region, although it is a frequent phenomenon in the concentration of rainfall periods as the spring (April) or fall (October), with summer an eminently dry season. Murcia is characterized by certain climatic differences which can vary the values listed above. This makes the thermal differences between the coast and the interior to be much more pronounced in winter. On the coast they do not usually fall below 10 º C, while in the interior regions of higher altitude not exceed 6 º C. These counties are located in the highest density of rain, with 600 mm of annual average.
